Vladimir Katz pianist and composer was born in Moscow and currently resides in New York City. An avid student of jazz, his formal training, which included early training in Israel, began at age 5, and by age 12 Vladimir had completed his first composition for piano, “Etude in D Minor.” From 1998-2001 Vladimir was an active member of the International Center for Creative Music in Jerusalem under the patronage of the late Arnie Lawrence, a major inspiration and influence in Vladimir’s decision pursue a career in Jazz. Vladimir’s passion for jazz brought him to NYC in 2001, where he studied with legendary Jazz pianist Kenny Barron at the Manhattan School of Music through 2003.
Drummer and Rio de Janeiro native Vanderlei Pereira is one of the most sought-after musicians on the contemporary Brazilian jazz scene. Combining a prodigious knowledge of Brazilian rhythms with dazzling technique and a distinctive touch, Vanderlei has captivated audiences around the world in performances with a virtual “Who’s Who” of Brazilian and Latin jazz. Based in New York City since 1988, he leads the acclaimed Brazilian jazz sextet Blindfold Test.
Eduardo Belo is a bass player and composer from Brasília, Brazil now living in New York City. A highly versatile player, he has shared the stage with Michel Camilo, Romero Lubambo, Lee Konitz, Chico Pinheiro, Duduka da Fonseca, Pedro Martins, Bebel Gilberto and many many others. Belo plays original compositions deeply rooted in Brazilian grooves and melodies — a modern view on classic Brazilian traditions.
